Despite the environment being a rising tide issue that will not be going away, green issues are still a low priority at the national government level and slipping back to a marginal issue for the media, creating a less urgent status for the big eco challenges in the public’s mindset. And just after we’ve worked so hard to make our environment front page news! So where do we go from here? The green movement is very diverse, with many different approaches and opinions about the way forward—but one thing we can all agree on is that we’re quickly running out of time, species, and resources. Betsy Rosenberg, Moderator, is a trailblazer in bringing green content to mainstream radio audiences. In 1997 Betsy launched TrashTalk minutes on KCBS and in 2004 began hosting EcoTalk on Air America, the nation’s first daily green interview program. In 2002, she founded the “Don’t Be Fueled!” campaign, and currently hosts Turn It Around with Betsy Rosenberg on the Progressive Radio Network. |
